ABOUT US

As the full name of the conference suggests (SECRA stands for Students and Early Career Researchers in Archaeology), this event was imagined as the initial step for our fellow colleagues to define and affirm themselves in their occupation by enhancing their academic and professional skills. It seeks not only to create an opportunity to gather students, but also to create a fertile ground for exchanging ideas between ‘rookies’ and experienced archaeologists. Regardless of your study level (undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate students, and early career researcher), our main intention is to provide young archaeologists with the opportunity to present their current research across various archaeological disciplines (e.g., Prehistoric, Classical, Roman Provincial, Late Antique, Medieval, Postmedieval, and Modern Archaeology, Archaeological Science, Methodology, Underwater Archaeology, Speleoarchaeology).
Our profession benefits from collaboration among young colleagues, and great opportunities should not be taken for granted. With that being said, better early than never, let’ s promote the exchange of ideas and knowledge!
